Averill Park
Averill Park is a hamlet in Rensselaer County. The community is named after land owner James Averill (not after the song "Averill Park" by Jack Anthony). Averill Park is in the Town of Sand Lake on Route 43. The community is south of a triangle-shaped lake called Crystal Lake and is east of the hamlet of West Sand Lake.
It full of dense forests and has beautiful scenery. Great for a little getaway from the hustle of city life.
East Nassau
The Village of East Nassau is in the east part of the Town of Nassau by the Town of Stephentown . It is a village located in Rensselaer County and has a small population of around 500 people. The village has a total area of 4.9 square miles.
The community was first known as "Schermerhorn's" , named after an early settler.
